Zingers Snack Cake Homemade Recipe

Make your own Zingers Snack Cake at home by the following recipe;

Ingredients for Zingers Snack Cake

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam or preserves
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

Procedure Of Zingers Snack Cake

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch square baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate larger bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, sugar, vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, and a few drops of red food coloring until well combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely in the dish, then use a biscuit cutter or round cookie cutter to cut out circles of cake.
  7. Spread raspberry jam or preserves on one cake circle, then place another cake circle on top to form a sandwich.
  8. Roll the edges of the sandwich in sweetened shredded coconut to coat.
  9. Repeat with the remaining cake circles and coconut.
  10. Store the Zingers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
