Crispy Pakora Recipe for Everyone

Here is a recipe for delicious crispy pakoras, a popular Pakistani snack:

Ingredients for Crispy Pakora Recipe

  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small potato, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 small eggplant, thinly sliced
  • Oil for frying

Instructions for Crispy Pakora Recipe

  1. In a mixing bowl, add chickpea flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, stirring constantly to make a smooth, thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the vegetables but not too runny.
  3. Add the sliced onions, potato, and eggplant to the batter and mix well, ensuring that all the vegetables are coated with the batter.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot enough, take a tablespoon of the vegetable mixture and drop it into the oil. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  5. Fry the pakoras until golden brown on all sides, turning them occasionally for even cooking. Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining vegetable mixture.
  7. Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
