Ingredients for Crispy Pakora Recipe
- 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small potato, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 small eggplant, thinly sliced
- Oil for frying
Instructions for Crispy Pakora Recipe
- In a mixing bowl, add chickpea flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, stirring constantly to make a smooth, thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the vegetables but not too runny.
- Add the sliced onions, potato, and eggplant to the batter and mix well, ensuring that all the vegetables are coated with the batter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot enough, take a tablespoon of the vegetable mixture and drop it into the oil. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the pakoras until golden brown on all sides, turning them occasionally for even cooking. Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Repeat the process with the remaining vegetable mixture.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
