Chicken Pulao Recipe
Here’s a simple recipe for Chicken Pulao:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes
- 2 cups basmati rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
- 3 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 2 green chillies, slit lengthwise
- 4 cups water
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
Instructions for Chicken Pulao Recipe:
- In a large pot, heat the oil or ghee over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
- Add the chicken and ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is lightly browned.
- Add the bay leaves, cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and green chillies. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the soaked rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Add 4 cups of water and salt to taste. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover the pot and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water has been absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Your delicious Chicken Pulao is ready to be served.
