Iran announces thwarting an attack by “drone planes” on a military site in Isfahan
The Iranian Ministry of Defense said that it had thwarted a drone attack on a military facility in the city of Isfahan, which also includes nuclear facilities in central Iran.
The ministry added that three drones participated in the attack, but there were no injuries.
It revealed that Iranian air defense systems destroyed one of the drones, while “defensive traps” succeeded in targeting two drones, causing minor damage to a building.
The BBC has not confirmed the extent of the damage to the site, nor has any party claimed responsibility for it.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian commented that the “cowardly” incident was an attempt to destabilize the country.
