Saim Ayub is a young and talented cricketer from Pakistan, who has been making waves in the domestic circuit. Born on 7th November 2001 in Karachi, Saim started playing cricket at a very young age and has worked hard to make his way up the ranks. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler, and has been touted as one of the most promising young players in Pakistan cricket.
Early Life and Career
Saim Ayub hails from a cricket-loving family and was introduced to the sport by his father, who used to play cricket at a club level. Saim started playing cricket at the age of six and joined the Karachi Gymkhana Cricket Academy to hone his skills. He worked hard on his game and started playing for his school and club teams. In 2017, he was selected to represent the Karachi Under-16 team in the national tournament.
Rise to Prominence
Saim Ayub’s breakthrough came in the 2019-20 season, when he made his debut for the Karachi Whites in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He scored a half-century on debut and followed it up with another fifty in his second match. He finished the season with 388 runs at an average of 35.27, which included three fifties. He also took five wickets with his medium-fast bowling.
In the 2020-21-23 season, Saim Ayub was picked by the Quetta Gladiators and in 2023 he represents Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft. He made his debut in the tournament against the Islamabad United and scored 23 runs off 17 balls. He played three matches in the tournament, scoring a total of 38 runs at an average of 19.00.

Saim Ayub is a technically sound batsman with a good temperament. He is a natural stroke-maker and has the ability to score runs quickly. He is equally adept at playing both spin and pace and has shown a good understanding of the game at a young age. As a bowler, he bowls at a medium-fast pace and has the ability to swing the ball both ways.
